Influencer Marketing
Feed: Eyal Dror Digital Business Consulting and Marketing. Even though influencer marketing is not an entirely new trend, as the world has shifted toward social media it’s worth having a look at the definition of it and how it’s different to other forms of digital marketing. Here’s how you can use it as part of your brand strategy by following the best practices of influencer campaigns. What is Influencer Marketing? Influencer marketing can be defined as a type of marketing that uses key leaders who usually have a considerable influence (e.g. social network following, YouTube subscribers, etc.) so this can ... Fake VIPs
Feed: Eyal Dror Online Marketing and Digital Business Consulting. One of the issues i keep running into when dealing with CRM and retention is that of the fake VIPs. What is a VIP? Depending on the vertical VIPs have different names: whales, high rollers, bulk buyers, or just VIPs. These users will usually be in charge of a large share of your revenues (about 50%) while their share of the population will be extremely small (about 5% of the paying population). VIP management Since VIPs are responsible for such a large share of your revenues, it is customary to segment ... Read More
Facebook’s Live video as a growth hacking engine
Feed: Eyal Dror Online Marketing and Digital Business Consulting. For those of you who haven’t heard of Facebook’s live video, check out the live map. Essentially, Facebook enables a live stream for all users, both private and businesses. The live video opportunity Well, since this is a (relatively) new feature to Facebook, and one that is doing well, Facebook is pushing hard for it. That means that a live video will get more organic exposure than any other post format out there. In some tests I did, the organic reach (meaning, the number of Facebook users who were exposed to ... Omni-channel sale points
Feed: Eyal Dror Online Marketing and Digital Business Consulting. What are Omni-channel sale points? There’s a lot of talk around our ability to market on various channels: Advertisers can promote their products or services across Social networks, RTB and exchange platforms, Search ads, Native and much more. At the other end of the funnel, the users are expected to act, usually make a purchase. Here’s the catch: If you did your part, your users can and will purchase across different assets: Your site, app, Facebook’s messenger, eBay / Amazon / other marketplaces, and even (god forbids) an actual store! In a nutshell, ... Read More
Game Fraud
Feed: Eyal Dror Online Marketing and Digital Business Consulting. This is a bit of a missed subject, or so I feel. Nonetheless, game fraud exists and for various reasons. If you’ve ever looked up “free [enter name of game currency] in [enter name of game]” you’re aware of the number of sites, apps and hacks offered for each successful game. Some are phishing efforts, targeted at greedy players, but other are real, offering high ranking characters in World of Warcraft or a high roller in a social poker app. How to tell if you have fraudulent players in your game ... Google’s Allo (or the chatbot revolution pt. 2)
Feed: Eyal Dror Online Marketing and Digital Business Consulting. Google Allo is a new messaging app, integrated with AI (or bots) for an improved chat experience. Yes, Google already has 2 (two) messaging apps (hangouts and google messenger). Yes, Google is also rolling out a video calling app (did someone say Facetime?). I’m not going to address this strange overkill, as that has been done. What is it about? Without going into much detail, the app has some cool features built in it like quick replies, but the game changer is without a doubt the the chatbot helper (referred to as the ... Read More
Facebook is the new mega portal
Feed: Eyal Dror Online Marketing and Digital Business Consulting. F8 announcements all seem exciting and very user friendly, but when it comes down to the hard truth, Facebook is losing its core values. If you recall the days of the Mega portals there was a fierce competition between Yahoo, AOL and the likes. The fall of those giants came due to what was then known as “web 2.0“, that those portals did not understand. Users are sharing less The simple truth is that Facebook’s vision is that of an all-encompassing website, one with all the features a user needs on their ... Read More
Google’s recent change to the sponsored search results
Feed: Eyal Dror Online Marketing and Digital Business Consulting. There have been rumors, but Google has confirmed that it will remove all sponsored search results from the right hand side, except for PLA (see example below) and knowledge panels. The total number of ads on a search page will decrease to 7 (up to 4 at the top, from 3 before, and another 3 at the bottom). Product Listing Ads exampleWhy? There are many guesses, but the truth is that Google is known to test (literally) everything. They have probably tested the new format and have found it more successful. How ... Read More
The pro and cons of having an app on top of your site
Feed: Eyal Dror Online Marketing and Digital Business Consulting. In my previous post, I finished with a question: Should you get an app? This is a question I get a lot from businesses of all sizes wanting to build an app for their site. The general claim is that “You have to have an app”, similar to the original “you have to have a site” around the year 2000 and the all-time favorite “you have to have a Facebook page” back in 2009 or so. Don’t get me wrong, eventually both these claims were (sort of) true. Most businesses do have a website, and ... Read More
