Blue Medora vROpsCLI Tutorial Part One: Getting Started

Feed: Blue Medora. Author: Tim George. Recently, we introduced a command line tool called vROpsCLI for VMware vRealize Operations Manager that opens wealth of options to programmatically manage mundane or large scale tasks using the rich APIs in vROps. You can install multiple management packs with one command, configure these packs, change credentials sets, and even check or update alert definitions without even setting foot within the vRealize UI. This tool was developed right here at Blue Medora by our own resident expert, Steve Miller. Steve wrote a blog that describes some of the functionality of this tool in more ... Read More
Using SQL Server on Google Cloud Platform

Feed: Blue Medora. Author: bluemedora_admin. For some time now, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) has been supporting enterprises that have Windows workloads. In 2017, GCP announced their official support for SQL Server using virtual machine (VM) images. There are certain aspects—like sustained use discounts or custom VMs—in GCP that make it suitable to run your SQL Server workloads. Even though SQL Server is not yet supported as a managed service, GCP is still good for hosting SQL Server workloads. Windows images in GCP support SQL Server Always On Availability Groups as well as integration with Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) for ... Read More
At the Top of Everyone’s List
Feed: Alation. Author: Nolan Necoechea. Today, we’re honored to be named to Constellation Research’s ShortList™ for Data Cataloging1 for the fourth consecutive year. In an increasingly noisy data cataloging space, this recognition is a reminder that Alation continues to lead the pack with 100+ customers and a unique solution built on the combination of human collaboration and machine learning. To draw up the ShortList, Constellation Research’s Vice President and Principal Analyst Doug Henschen evaluated more than a dozen of the industry’s best data cataloging solutions, judging companies based on a combination of client inquiries, partner conversations, customer references, vendor selection projects, ... The “FUTURe” of Working with Data
Feed: Alation. Author: Aaron Kalb. It’s time for a change. One of our core values here at Alation is to measure our success through customer impact. Since we launched, Alation has made it easier for data consumers to find, understand, and trust relevant datasets. Numerous studies had shown that before we introduced the first Machine Learning Data Catalog, analysts and data scientists would spend more than 80% of their time scrounging around for the right data and trying to make sense of it, instead of actually working with it. The efficiency benefits of Alation’s Find–Understand–Trust trifecta were evident, and soon ... Read More
Natural Language Processing Is a Key Engine of AI Market Growth, Enabling 44 Discrete Use Cases Across 17 Industries

Feed: Feed | Tractica. Author: . Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies such as machine learning and deep learning are dazzling in and of themselves, but leveraged in isolation, they are limited in their potential, according to a recent report from Tractica. These technologies do not interpret data by themselves: they are tied either to deterministic, hard coded software programs created by humans or they are linked to a form of AI that can interpret human language into a form that algorithms can understand. The umbrella term for this gateway AI technology is natural language processing (NLP).Tractica’s analysis indicates that utilization of ... Read More
Consumer Robot Shipments Will Surpass 65 Million Units Annually by 2025

Feed: Feed | Tractica. Author: . Consumer robots have been part of popular culture for decades, fueling visions of having robots living alongside humans in our homes to assist with daily tasks, entertain, educate, and socialize. However, the promise of consumer robotics remains largely unfulfilled. Cleaning robots, such as robotic vacuums, dominate the market and we are years away from widespread adoption of the robot types with which people have envisioned sharing their homes. However, according to a new report from Tractica, there is renewed interest in consumer robotics with companies introducing new innovations and product categories. The market intelligence firm ... Read More

Advancing our Partnership with Google Cloud

Feed: Blue Medora. Author: Nathan Owen. Since our announced plans to support Google Stackdriver customers with new levels of hybrid and multi-cloud visibility, we have worked closely with the Google Cloud Platform team to make early access a seamless experience. We’re pleased to now support Stackdriver monitoring metrics collection via a new entrypoint on the Google Cloud Marketplace. This allows customers of Stackdriver to open their observability aperture to infrastructure and resources running on Azure, data centers, or specialized workloads running in GCP. Why does this rock if you use GCP today, or are considering a GCP migration? Multi-cloud is ... Read More
